Preparation instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Grease and line a 24 cm diameter English cake pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, honey, oil, eggs, vanilla extract, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour the mixture into the pan and smooth out.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake completely before serving.

Tips:

  • You can add nuts, dried fruit or chocolate chips to the cake.
  • If you want the cake to have a richer flavor, you can add 1/2 cup (120 ml) of mead or 1/2 cup (120 ml) of orange juice.
  • Honey can be replaced with brown sugar.

Notes:

  • Baking time may vary depending on the oven and pan.
  • It is recommended to wait 10-15 minutes before opening the oven so that the cake does not collapse.
  • The cake can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days.
